Just took in a 9' 6" F.E Thomas Special rod for restoring. It's a 3/2 and I guess about a 6/7 weight. 3.6" all N/S slide band reel seat and 6.5" largish torpedo grip. Measured over varnish. About a million intermediate wraps. Best looking ferrules I've ever seen sizes 19 and 13

This rod has a "Parabolic (butt-flex)" stress profile. Stress varies significantly across the rod. Some sections work much harder than others, creating a pronounced action character. Peak stress is well below the failure threshold, giving this rod a generous safety margin.
