Privacy Policy

What We Collect

CaneCalc collects the minimum data needed to provide the service:

• Account information: Email address and hashed password when you create an account (via Supabase Auth).
• Taper designs: Rod dimensions, station data, and design names you save. Designs are private by default.
• Display name: An optional profile name shown on designs you choose to share publicly.

What We Don't Collect

• No tracking cookies or analytics scripts
• No advertising or marketing pixels
• No sale or sharing of data with third parties
• No behavioral profiling

Cookies

CaneCalc uses only functional cookies required for authentication (keeping you logged in). We do not use tracking, advertising, or third-party cookies.

Public API

The /api/analyze endpoint is public and does not require authentication. Taper data sent to this endpoint is processed in memory and not stored. IP addresses are used for rate limiting only and are not logged.

Shared Designs

When you mark a design as public, its taper data and your display name become visible to anyone with the link. Share URLs encode the taper data directly — no server lookup is required. You can make designs private again at any time.

Data Storage

Data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security policies that restrict access to your own designs. All connections use TLS encryption.

Data Deletion

You can delete individual designs from the app at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email admin@canecalc.com.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date.
